Frequently Asked Questions
What if I’m NOT a massage therapist, and want to work with you?
I’m happy to hear this! I often work with people who are not massage therapists: teachers, a realtor, a dental assistant, with corporate managers, homemakers, yoga instructors, artists, entrepreneurs, even other coaches.
A lot of the challenges massage therapists face are the same challenges we all face: sifting through myriad choices, prioritizing, setting goals, challenges with self-confidence, setting healthy boundaries, taking good care of ourselves, feeling isolated….
What challenges are you facing? How can I support you?
I’m curious about the coaching process. How do I know it is right for me?
While many people have heard about coaching, there is still confusion about what it is we do. I offer a 30-minute complementary session to help you better understand the process, answer any questions you have.
How much time does coaching take?
That depends on you, what you want to accomplish, and how much time you have to focus on the change you want to make. Clients work with me anywhere from 8 weeks to a year.
Where do we meet?
Most coaching is over the phone. However, if you live in or near Concord, MA, we can meet in person.
How does the work of a Coach differ from that of a Therapist?
Counseling therapists primarily help you get in touch with past hurts and trauma and heal from them. While your past may come up during sessions, coaches do not work through past issues. Coaching is present and future oriented; it takes you from where you are right now, to where you want to be. When obstacles arise (and they always do), they are most often related to past experiences; we acknowledge this, and look for ways to move beyond them.
